The forth form of Maa Durga is Kushmaanda. She is believed to be lived inside Sun’s mid, which is not possible for any other deity. And meaning of her name (kushm-and i.e. Hot Egg), denotes her living place that is why she is known as Kushmaanda. Her prayer is to be done on the forth day in Navratra.
Her conveyance on Lion and she is always eager to kill wicked (dusht). She has eight hands and possesses different types of weapons and the bowl filled with liquid of Immortality (Amrat) in her hands. She is bright like Gold.
Maa Kushmaanda Mantra
सुरासम्पूर्णकलशं रुधिराप्लुतमेव च। दधाना हस्तपद्माभ्यां कूष्माण्डा शुभदास्तु मे॥
The things which should be used in Liturgy(Pooja):
On this day of Navratra, Maalpue should be offered to Maa and later to Brahmin as well.
If the person does the prayer with pure devotion, devotee could be free from any kind of problem. She actually brings light into darkness and ignorance, gives true knowledge, destroys ego, disease, sorrow, depression, ignorance. Devotee must concentrate on Anahat chakra while doing meditation (dhyan) of Maa to get these auspicious blessings.
