SIXTH FORM OF NAVDURGA (MAA KATYAYNI)

The sixth form of Maa Durga is Katyayni. The famous sage Katyayan, worshipped her and asked her to take birth as his daughter. Goddess Durga pleased on him and took birth and known as Katyayni. However, She is the Goddess of vrindavan as well. As to get Krishna as a husband, Girls (gopis) worship Ma Katryayani in Brij. She is having four hands. One hand possesses Sword and another hand has lotus. The other two hands show  the blessings on Fearlessness (abhay mudra) and Promising posture(Var mudra). Her prayer is to be done on the sixth day in Navratra.

Her conveyance is Lion. 

 

Maa Katyayni Mantra

चंद्र हासोज्ज वलकरा शार्दू लवर वाहना|
कात्यायनी शुभं दद्या देवी दानव घातिनि||

The things which should be used in Liturgy(Pooja):

On this day of Navratra, Honey should be offered to Maa and later to Brahmin as well.

If the person does the prayer with pure devotion, devotee could get success in education and beauty. Devotee must concentrate on Aagya chakra while doing meditation (dhyan) of Maa to get these auspicious blessings.
