The second form of Maa Durga is BRAHMCHARINI. She is the deity (goddess) of very hard Penance (Tapsaya) and Meditation. Her prayer is done on the second day in Navratra.
Brahmcharni wanted Lord Shiva as her husband and for that she did extreme level of Penance. In the first phase of penance, she lived her life only on Fruits and then went ahead with only BelPatra. But later she left eating anything at all for years to make Lord Shiva happy.
She has a garland of worship in her right hand and Auspicious Bowl (Kamandal) in left hand.
Maa Brahmacharini Mantra
दधाना करपद्माभ्यामक्षमालाकमण्डलू। देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा॥
The things which should be used in Liturgy (Pooja):
On the second day of Navratra, Sugar should be offered to Maa and later sugar to be given to Brahmin as well.
If the person does the prayer with pure devotion, devotee gets better in Renunciation, Character and Moral as per Maa’s blessing. And devotee must concentrate on Swadishthan chakra while doing meditation (dhyan) of Maa to get the auspicious blessings.
